I used to dread Sunday nights. When my daughter was with her dad, the silence in the house felt heavy. I’d open the fridge, stare blankly, and usually settle for cheese and crackers on the couch, not because I didn’t love food, but because I didn’t feel it was worth the effort. Cooking, plating, lighting a candle… that was for someone else. Someone expecting a guest. But one night, something shifted in my thoughts, and I had an epiphany!
Instead of missing what wasn’t there, I leaned into what
was. I poured a glass of wine, played the music I loved, and cooked a dish my daughter didn't like, just for myself. I sat at the table, and felt joy in my self indulgence.
That single choice began to transform everything.
I realized that my solo dinners didn’t have to be sad, rushed, or overlooked. They could be sacred. A ritual. A celebration. I started cooking for myself not out of necessity, but because I started to look forward to my Sunday night meals. And in that small, beautiful act, I began to rebuild something bigger, my self-worth, my creativity, my spark.
That’s why I created The Solo Supper Club, a space where women like you and me can fall back in love with cooking, not because someone else is coming over, but because we are already enough.
If you’ve ever stood in your kitchen and felt uninspired, lonely, or invisible, I want you to know this:
You are worth the time.
You are worth the creativity.
You are worth the meal.
This isn’t about perfection or performance.
It’s about presence, pleasure, and the quiet power of showing up for yourself. Because dinner for one isn’t a compromise, it’s a celebration.
This is your invitation to light the candle, pour the wine, and remember: you are the guest of honour.
